They are energy efficient units that use ground water to cool
the freon in your home air conditioner instead of using the outside coils and blower that
most houses have. The water flows when the compressor is on, and is normally recycled to
water the lawn and refill the lakes either directly or through the stormwater system. They
are perfectly legal and have often been encouraged by the authorities as a
conservation tool. |
