Call Illegal Dumping Enforcement at 813-272-5680 to report trash dumped on the roadside, and get it picked up by the Solid Waste Department. It takes about 2 weeks to get the stuff removed. For Pot Holes and tree trimming on the road right of way, call the Road Maintenance West Service Center at 554-5006, ext 707. Call Waste Management at 621-3053 to report a missed pick up of your garbage, recycling, or yard waste. They are supposed to send out a truck the next day. Call the Sheriff at 911 to report any crime or anything that even looks suspicious. Alligator reporting: Call the Fish & Game Commission at 1-800-282-8002 and tell them there is a nuisance alligator hanging around your beach or dock, and you are fearful for the safety of your family. They will issue a permit to one of the state trappers who will contact you and come out to your home to investigate. They will either put out some bait to catch the gator on a hook or go hunting for it at night in a boat with a spotlight and a harpoon. Traffic Signal Division: 744-5670. Lately, we have been
experiencing problems with the left turn light signal at Dale Mabry and LLF. For example,
some people don't know that they must be at the line for the signal to change and we
either have to get out of the car and tell them to move up, or beep (and receive the
American salute from them). SOOOOO! yesterday we called Chris Okeef (not sure of spelling)
at the Trafic signal division at 813-744-5670. Ironically he had a truck in the area and
sent his man over to check it out. He reported that the loop was working properly,
but the problem may lie in that the white line has faded. He is reporting to the
department that paints the lines. It we don't see anything done within a week or two to
give him a call back. Also, if the newly painted line still doesn't solve the problem, to
call and he will send someone out to widen the loop (allowing for motion detection in a
larger range). |
